Nonhyeon Senior Welfare Center operated an experiential booth titled “Assessing My Grip Strength and Muscle Health” to help local residents check their health status and raise awareness of the importance of health management.

At the booth, participants had their grip strength measured and their muscle quality assessed using BodyMap, allowing them to directly check their own muscle strength and overall muscle health. Based on the measurement results, staff also provided consultations on lifestyle habits to help prevent sarcopenia and promote healthy aging.

In particular, the program included an explanation of the relationship between grip strength and cognitive function. Recent studies have reported that lower grip strength may be associated with an increased risk of cognitive decline and dementia. Accordingly, staff emphasized the importance of maintaining muscle strength and encouraged participants to engage in regular strength training to help prevent dementia and cognitive disorders.
